Gylfi Sigurdsson admits he would have swapped his strike against Chelsea for maximum points in the London derby.

The Iceland international scored his third goal in two top-flight games before Blues skipper John Terry levelled in the second half at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are currently in third position in the Premier League table, but Sigurdsson, 23, admitted he was slightly disappointed with the stalemate.

“It’s nice to get another goal, especially against Chelsea at home, but I would have preferred the three points,” Sigurdsson told Tottenham’s website.

“We played well in the first half, created a lot of chances, got the goal but in the second half, Chelsea were on top until Torres was sent off.

“We then dominated the last 10 minutes but they defended well and we couldn’t get past them.

“We were on top in the first half and continued what we’ve been doing in the last few games. We’ve a lot of confidence and I think if we’d have scored the second goal it would have killed the game.

“Now we look to the next game.”

Sigurdsson has scored six goals in 38 Premier League appearances for Spurs after the midfielder joined the north London side from Hoffenheim last summer.
