Ticket marketplace viagogo has marked its launch in Australia this week by unveiling a three-year deal to become the official ticket marketplace of both the Collingwood and Richmond Football Clubs.

viagogo will provide both clubs with their official ticket portals, which give members and fans secure access to tickets to an unrivalled choice of events in Australia and all over the world, up to the last minute and even if they are sold out at the box office.

viagogo has operations in nearly 50 countries and provides a secure platform on which people can buy and sell tickets to live events safely, securely and with the guarantee that buyers will receive the tickets they bought in time for the event and sellers will get paid.

Richmond and Collingwood are joining nearly a hundred of the biggest names in sports and entertainment that already work with viagogo across the world, including more than 30 European football clubs such as Chelsea FC, Manchester City FC, FC Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Collingwood CEO Gary Pert said: “Our members and fans are passionate supporters of live sport and entertainment and we are delighted to be partnering with viagogo to offer them a gateway to the world’s greatest events. Partnering with viagogo ensures we can assist in providing the highest levels of customer protection and service. The scope of this partnership and the benefits we can bring to our supporters and members is only going to get bigger and bigger in the years to come.”

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said: “Our partnership with viagogo will give our fans and members convenient and safe access to the greatest events in Australia and all over the world. We are delighted to be working with the industry leader in secondary ticketing to widen access to live sport and entertainment for Richmond supporters.”

viagogo CEO Eric Baker added: “Since we founded the business in 2006, viagogo has revolutionised the way people buy and sell tickets to sports and entertainment events across the globe. We are proud to be launching our service in Australia following great success in nearly 50 other countries.

“Gone are the days of missing out on tickets to your favourite events, or having to take your chances buying tickets on auction sites or from people trying to rip you off outside a venue. Our partnership with these two great teams means that none of their supporters ever has to take a risk buying a ticket without a guarantee.”
