Kingsley Jones lauds Welsh ‘genius’ Justin Tipuric
Wales openside flank Justin Tipuric is a genius player, according to former international Kingsley Jones
Justin Tipuric’s touch of “genius” should have Wales fans purring according to former international Kingsley Jones.
Jones, now assistant coach at Newport Gwent Dragons, was on the wrong end of Tipuric’s double for Ospreys in the Pro12 on Friday night but still saw the positives from a national perspective.
Tipuric, who helped Wales to the 2013 Six Nations crown, was named man of the match after rounding off a break by Matthew Morgan to claim his first try.
The 24-year-old then scored a superb individual touchdown in the second half to hand the Ospreys a conclusive 40-17 victory.
And Kingsley, who made ten appearances for Wales, believes it bodes well ahead of the autumn internationals.
“I think their first two tries were probably from individual genius,” he said.
“Matthew Morgan taking advantage of a miss-match with a fantastic break and Tipuric – everything he touched turned to gold.”
Tipuric added: “It’s been a hard two weeks and we’ve just had to get down working hard.
“There’s been so much extra training individually which has got us this win.”
