Scottish Rugby team up with ticket marketplace viagogo
Online ticket marketplace viagogo agrees a three-year partnership with Scottish Rugby, the first deal with a governing body of its kind

Online ticket marketplace viagogo has agreed a three-year partnership with Scottish Rugby, the first deal with a governing body of its kind.
The deal will see viagogo become the new sponsor of this year’s November international matches at Murrayfield, which will now be branded the viagogo Autumn Tests.
The matches are against Japan on Saturday 9 November, South Africa on Sunday 17 November and Australia on Saturday 23 November. Tickets can be bought now by clicking here.
Scottish Rugby chief executive Mark Dodson said: “This ground-breaking deal is good news for Scottish Rugby financially and good news for our supporters both at home and overseas.
“We’ve stressed that serving the supporter, our customer, is a huge driver for us.
“This deal gives us a significant extra outlet for tickets, extends our international reach in some of our biggest ex-pat markets and gives the supporter who for whatever reason can no longer come to a game, the opportunity to recoup their outlay within our revised ticket sale terms and conditions, while also ensuring that additional revenues are invested in Scottish Rugby.
“In the past, if you bought a ticket and were unable to attend a game, you were not allowed to sell on that ticket. Clearly, like any organisation, we have to look at how we operate in what is a hugely competitive and disjointed marketplace.
“This selling is something that happens already and what we are doing is managing it more efficiently with a global partner.
“This significant investment will also enable us to continue in our strategy of ploughing money back into the game in Scotland.
“Our existing priority rights ticket groups, for example, our Debenture Holders, member clubs and season ticket holders are unaffected by this partnership.”
Oliver Wheeler, global head of communications for viagogo, added: “We are very proud to be working with Scottish Rugby.
“This partnership marks a number of milestones for our business, as it’s our first with a sport’s governing body, our first in Scotland and our first with branding rights.”
