Arsenal are missing Theo Walcott’s width, says Ray Parlour
Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes the Gunners have missed Theo Walcott's width on the right wing
Ray Parlour reckons Arsenal are missing the width which Theo Walcott provides to the Gunners side.
The 24-year-old forward has not featured for the north London side since mid-September after a spell on the sidelines due to an abdominal injury.
Walcott, who signed a new three-and-a-half year contract at Emirates Stadium in January, scored 14 goals in 32 Premier League appearances last season.
And former Gunners midfielder Parlour feels the Arsenal side can become narrow without Walcott providing much-needed balance on the right wing.
“It’s going to be interesting to see what Roy does but it’s also going to be interesting to see what happens regarding Theo getting back into the Arsenal team as well,” Parlour told Sky Sports.
“One thing when you look at the Arsenal team is that they do sometimes need a bit of that width on the right side.
“A lot of the players look to cut inside and prefer that middle area. Sometimes you do need that pace that Theo Walcott can bring to a team.”
