Arsenal transfers: Bendtner ‘eyes move to Real Madrid or Barcelona’
Arsenal transfers: Nicklas Bendtner claims he could leave the Gunners to join Real Madrid or Barcelona in January
Nicklas Bendtner has claimed he could leave Arsenal to join Real Madrid or Barcelona in January.
The 25-year-old’s future has been a source of speculation in recent days after the Denmark international stated his desire to leave Emirates Stadium in search of regular first-team football.
Bendtner has started just two games for Arsenal so far this season and has made five substitute appearances for Arsene Wenger’s men.
And the forward has now underlined his desire to quit the north London club, but insists that money will not be a decisive factor in determining his destination, before bizarrely suggesting a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona could be on the cards.
“I do not [chase money]. It is the sport that is the most important,” Bendtner told Politiken.
“I’m going somewhere where I know I can be happy to play. With a team where I can score goals and preferably to win something.
“I do not want to sit on the bench staring. I love playing lots of games.”
When asked how he envisaged his career would continue, Bendtner replied: “Real Madrid or Barcelona.”
