Santi Cazorla has claimed that Arsene Wenger’s “demanding and determined” attitude is one of the key factors behind Arsenal’s flying start to the season.

The Gunners are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table heading into Saturday’s clash against Southampton at Emirates Stadium.

Wenger has not led Arsenal to a major trophy since their FA Cup final triumph over Manchester United back in 2005.

And Cazorla feels that the Frenchman has been displaying a more determined and concentrated attitude this season.

“He’s more demanding [this season],” Cazorla told the Guardian. “It’s been a long time without winning anything and he’s determined.

“I learn from him every day and he has the same philosophy to keep the ball, play, but in defence, in terms of not committing mistakes, he’s more on top of us.

“He knows last year we lost too many points. It could be that [the pressure in the summer] might have helped; it might have done the club good.
