Chelsea transfers: Kevin De Bruyne should leave, says Eden Hazard
Chelsea transfers: Blues midfielder Eden Hazard believes Kevin De Bruyne should leave the west London side in January
Eden Hazard believes Kevin De Bruyne should leave Chelsea in the January transfer window if he can’t secure regular football at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international’s situation has been a source of speculation in recent weeks after falling out of favour under Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
And Hazard insisted De Bruyne would be better served seeking a move away from Chelsea to secure first-team football in an important World Cup year.
“If he does not play, it is better for him to leave. Playing a World Cup after having not played for a year, is very difficult,” Hazard told Het Nieuwsblad.
“If we want to get the best from Kevin in the future it is better that he leaves. But he’s a big boy. He must make his own choices.”
On Saturday, De Bruyne refused to rule out a move away from Chelsea amid reported interest from Anderlecht.
“Maybe,” said De Bruyne when asked if a loan move could be possible in January. “But Chelsea is my employer and they decide my future.
“I don’t have to talk about what could happen in January now, as it’s only November. A lot can still happen.
“I feel quite good. The fact that I’m playing at Chelsea is proof I always performed well. The manager told me in July that I had to stay, so I’m not a difficult person. I’ve no regrets.”
