Jack Wilshere: England can learn from South American teams

Jack Wilshere is hoping England will learn lessons from their 2-0 friendly defeat by Chile at Wembley.
Roy Hodgson’s men were beaten 2-0 by the visitors as Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez scored either side of half-time to end the Three Lions’ 10-game unbeaten run.
But Arsenal midfielder Wilshere believes that England can learn from Chile’s crafty tactics as they continue their preparations for next summer’s World Cup.
“South American teams like to make little fouls and break the game up which is frustrating. But we could learn a bit from them sometimes,” Wilshere told the Daily Express.
“Maybe if we could pick that up from their character, a little foul here and there like they did, doesn’t hurt. Once they do little fouls, it slows play down and you have to stop, build up and it makes it difficult. It was good game-play.
“It was mentally tough against Chile. So this was a good experience for us. At least we know now what to expect from those sorts of teams and we can learn from it.”
