Sergio Aguero has warned Manchester City that they must find some consistent form if they want to win the Premier League this season.

The Citizens have made a stuttering start to the campaign under Manuel Pellegrini, slumping to four away defeats in their opening 11 games to leave them in eighth place in the table.

And the Argentina striker is well aware that the expensively-assembled squad must improve their form if they are to have any chance of winning the title.

“We have the squad to win the league and we need to be consistent,” said Aguero.

“We must try to stop making mistakes away from home because, at the end of the season, it could make all the difference.”

However, the 25-year-old admitted that he has been pleased with his solid start to the season on a personal level.

“I’m playing well,” he continued. “I’ve had a good start to the season.

“Now I have to keep it up and play all the matches like that, so that people keep saying good things – otherwise we’ve got problems.

“I think the majority of my goals have helped the team get three points and that’s very important.”
