Arsene Wenger has denied that Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Alvaro Morata on loan from Real Madrid.

Widespread media reports on Tuesday morning claimed that the Gunners had sealed a six-month deal for the 21-year-old as the Frenchman looks to bolster his attacking options in the mid-season window.

However, speaking at a media conference ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Hull City at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, Wenger insisted that he has not had any contact with the La Liga side over a possible deal for the striker.

“No, there is no truth in that, that’s all I can say,” said Wenger. “I have not been in touch with them.”

Morata has come off the bench nine times for Real Madrid this season, scoring two goals.
