Bacary Sagna has revealed that he is still in talks with Arsenal over a new contract amid reports of a potential move away from The Emirates.

The France international is yet to agree a new deal with the Premier League leaders with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season, meaning he can speak to potential suitors next month.

I still have six months to do with Arsenal but we are in talks

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, whose side are two points clear of second-placed Liverpool, has expressed his belief that Sagna will commit his future to the club despite the continuing speculation surrounding the defender’s future.

And Sagna insists that he still has a “good relationship” with the north London club.

“I still have six months to do with Arsenal, but we are in talks. January? This is an option to engage elsewhere, but I’ve always had a good relationship with Arsenal,” Sagna told BEN Sport.

“It’s been seven years since I signed here. I hope that will lead to something good. I would like to win the championship, because we have the opportunity this year, and then after, we’ll see.”
