Iker Casillas insists he wants to stay at Real Madrid amid interest from the Premier League.

The Spain captain is yet to make a La Liga appearance this season as Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti continues to stick with Diego Lopez in his side’s top-flight games.

Casillas has racked up eight appearances in the Copa del Rey and Champions League this term, but continues to be linked with English duo Arsenal and Manchester City ahead of January transfer window.

But the 32-year-old shot stopper, who has won five La Liga titles and the Champions League twice during 15 seasons at Los Blancos, wants to remain at his boyhood club despite being out-of-favour in a World Cup year.

“Real Madrid is my here and now,” Casillas is quoted as saying by El Hormiguero.

“I’m delighted to be at Madrid. In five or six years we’ll see. There’s a lot of speculation about me.

“Every day there are rumours and these reports can appear. I’m a Real Madrid player, it’s where I’ve always been and I want to stay here.”
