Arsenal transfers: Youssouf Mulumbu plays down Gunners link
Arsenal transfers: Youssouf Mulumbu denies claims he has been in touch with the Gunners over a potential January move
Youssouf Mulumbu has denied claims he has been in touch with Arsenal over a potential January transfer to north London.
The West Bromwich Albion midfielder, was quoted by France Football as saying that he has been in touch with the Gunners over a potential move, while also criticising the Baggies’ professionalism.
I admitted there has been interest in me from other clubs but I didn’t speak about Arsenal
However, the 26-year-old insists that he has been misquoted, and although he admits there has been interest from other clubs, he maintains that he did not mention Arsenal by name.
“I did an interview with a French journalist but I’m not happy about how my answers have been reported,” Mulumbu, who has started all of West Brom’s 13 league games this season, told The Times.
“I would never refer to my teammates that way. I just spoke about the fact we need to get better at controlling games after the point we’ve let slip recently.
“The general point I was trying to make is I want to play at the highest level possible.
“I admitted there has been interest in me from other clubs but I didn’t speak about Arsenal or say I would be looking to move in January.”
