Mesut Ozil insists that he already feels settled in London following his big-money transfer to Arsenal from Real Madrid.

The Germany playmaker has already slotted seamlessly into Arsene Wenger’s first-team since his £42.5m deadline-day move to north London, scoring five goals and making eight assists in all competitions.

And the 25-year-old says that having German team-mates such as Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker at Arsenal has helped him settle into life in the capital.

“They’ve helped me,” Ozil told Arsenal’s website. “It’s good to have people I know here.

“I have settled in really well. I have a house in London and I am enjoying living here.”

Meanwhile, Ozil’s Germany team-mate Mertesacker admits that he is enjoying everything that London has to offer.

“I’ve watched tennis at the O2 and the NBA also comes here,” said Mertesacker. It’s really exciting to live here and enjoy the life.

“We haven’t been to a cricket match so far, so that’s one of our targets for next year.”
