Hull City

Allan McGregor Caught out for Gerrard’s goal but played his part and eased the pressure on his defence a number of times. 5/10

Alex Bruce Almost exposed in the second half as Suarez raced forward but was helped out by McGregor, other than that made it difficult for Liverpool’s attackers. 5

Curtis Davies The defender gave away the free-kick for Gerrard’s goal and looked edgy but improved as the game went on and came close with a header at the other end. 5

Maynor Figueroa (man-of-the-match) Excellent cover throughout the game including a key interception with the visitors first chance as he prevented Henderson from reaching the ball in the box. 6

Ahmed Elmohamady Another battling performance from the Egyptian and won the ball in the build-up to Hull’s first goal but should have scored late on. 6

David Meyler The match-winner showed great composure after the ball fell to him in the box as he rifled the ball across Mignolet. 6

Tom Huddlestone Came more and more into the game and will be looking to claim Hull’s third despite a big Skrtel deflection. 5

Jake Livermore Superb play for his deflected goal to put Hull 2-1 after a neat interchange before unleashing the strike. 6

Robbie Brady Rightly booked in the first half for a dive but was key to helping his side limit Brendan Rodgers’ men after tracking back throughout. 5

Robert Koren Showed what he is capable of with his runs and delivery into the box but was not involved enough, resulting in him being replaced by Rosenoir. 5

Yannick Sagbo Very energetic and had opportunities late on but could not find the killer finish. 5

Substitutes

Liam Rosenoir Brought on to provide fresh legs and didn’t put a foot wrong. 5

Liverpool

Simon Mignolet Helpless for both Hull goals and made a good save late on. 5

Glen Johnson Didn’t look his usual self at the back or when going forward and will be disappointed with his performance. 5

Kolo Toure Made a key tackle on Koren in the first half but carried out a poor clearance seconds before Meyler’s winner. 5

Martin Skrtel Great performance from the Slovakian as he made countless blocks and interceptions. Unlucky to see his deflection send the ball into the net for Hull’s third. 6

Jon Flanagan Not as dominant as he was in the Merseyside derby last weekend but made it difficult for the opposition to get past him. 5

Steven Gerrard Textbook strike to claim his third league goal of the season and as expected sprayed the ball all over the park all game. 6

Lucas Leiva Made several key tackles but faded out of the game in the second half. 5

Jordan Henderson Bravely won the free-kick for Liverpool’s opener but was frustrating at times with his final product. 5

Raheem Sterling The youngster carried out some good runs but spent too long on the ball at times. 5

Luis Suarez Heavily involved but couldn’t find the finish all afternoon but was unlucky with a late free-kick from range as it edged just wide. 6

Victor Moses Poorly gave the ball away for Hull’s opener and struggled on the ball before being replaced. 5

Substitutes

Philippe Coutinho The Brazilian made an impact with two teasing passes from the after coming on. 6

Luis Alberto Did not receive the ball enough to give himself the chance to make his mark. 5
