Kolo Toure has admitted Luis Suarez is crucial to Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes.

The 26-year-old forward scored his 16th and 17th Premier League goals of the season in an emphatic 5-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

I think now he can see that all the players want to fight and want to try to win this title

Liverpool moved into second place and two points behind leaders Arsenal thanks to their win at Spurs, and Toure insists the Reds are ready to fight for the title.

“He is here; for us we love him because he is a great player,” Toure said.

“We don’t of course want to lose him to another team. I think now he can see that all the players want to fight and want to try to win this title definitely.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers urged the Reds to keep working as a unit if they harbour hopes of challenging for the top-flight crown.

“We are challenging,” Rodgers said. “Every single game is really important for us and I think we started the (Tottenham) game very well, very strong, and we played as a team.

“We fight, we attack, we defend together and that is very important when you want to challenge for the title, definitely.”
