Luis Suarez vows to stay at Liverpool and secure top-four finish
Luis Suárez has moved to end the immediate speculation about his future by vowing to help Liverpool finish in top four
Luis Suarez has moved to end the immediate speculation about his future by vowing to help Liverpool secure Champions League qualification this season.
The Uruguay striker was the star of the show as he netted four stunning goals in Wednesday night’s 5-1 victory over Norwich City at Anfield to move the Reds into fourth place in the table.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a January move away from Anfield in recent weeks following his public pleas for a transfer during the summer window.
But the striker, who has netted 13 Premier League goals in nine appearances, is planning to stay on Merseyside until at least the summer.
“When I’m happy away from the pitch, I am happy on it,” Suarez told Marca.
“I’m happy to be in the Premier League as it’s the best competition in the world. I’m happy here and I will stay.
“It’s the main aim for Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League as we haven’t been in it for a while. I’m going to help the team to reach their goal.
“Luckily I’m scoring to make up for the games I missed, so I have my confidence back and so I can help the team.”
