Javi Garcia is very happy at Manchester City despite reports of Benfica and Napoli interest, according to the midfielder’s agent.

The Spaniard has started just six Premier League games this season as Manuel Pellegrini continues to use the 26-year-old sparingly.

Garcia scored twice in 17 top-flight appearances in his first season in England after ex-City boss Roberto Mancini paid £15.8m to secure his services in 2012.

But the former Benfica man’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon rubbished reports suggesting that Garcia could leave the Citizens in the January transfer window.

“Javi Garcia to Lisbon? We do not have any news about this,” Quilon told Radio Renascenca.

“The player liked his time in Lisbon and how he progressed as a player but he is now at Manchester City.

“Not for one moment have we even looked at the possibility [of him leaving] because he is very happy in England, with City and fighting for titles.”
