Robbie Savage has urged Manchester United to sign Adam Lallana and Ross Barkley in the January transfer window.

The Southampton captain scored his side’s opener before creating Rickie Lambert’s strike in a 3-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at St Mary’s.

In Sunday’s late kick-off, Barkley netted a late free-kick to help Everton secure a 2-1 win against Swansea City.

England manager Roy Hodgson has recognised both their club performances this season after including the pair in his recent squads.

And Savage, who started his professional career at the Red Devils, wants United manager Moyes to spend big on the duo next month.

Savage tweeted: “Lallana and Barkley are two players United should try and sign as I’ve stated already this season!”

Moyes signed another Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini in a £27.5m deal in the summer transfer window.

After the 2-1 win, Toffees boss Roberto Martinez heaped praise on Barkley.

“Ross is growing game-by-game. He is showing different aspects, he is a quite incredible diamond of English football.”
