Cristian Zapata insists he is unaware of reported interest from Manchester United and wants to remain at AC Milan.

The Colombia international has been a first-team regular for the seven-time European champions since sealing a move to the San Siro from Villarreal in 2012.

United manager David Moyes is speculated to be an admirer of the former Udinese centre-half – but the 27-year-old wants to see out his contract with Milan.

“No, I do not know anything. I just think about Milan. I have a contract until 2016 and I want to stay here,” said Zapata.

Earlier this month, Moyes insisted he would not panic buy in January despite the club’s struggles in the opening half of the season.

“I don’t think I’ll feel under pressure personally to do it as I’ll try to do the right things,” Moyes said.

“I tend to take my time and try to assess what are the best talents to bring in. You can see from the players I brought in at Everton the other night – you would say they were all very good choices.

“We’ve got a window in January where if we think it’s right for the club we will do so [sign players]. If not, we will look again in the summer.

“This club is always looking to bring in the best talent and that won’t change.”
