David Beckham has tipped Manchester United manager David Moyes to have a very successful career at Old Trafford.

The Scot has endured a difficult start to his reign after quitting Everton to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at the Red Devils during the summer.

There is a new manager that the players are behind and the fans are behind and I think he’ll be very successful

United are 10 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal after a much-needed 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.

And Beckham, who won the top-fight title six times during his United career, feels his former club was always going to struggle initially without Ferguson.

“There was always going to be a transitional period with the manager leaving and a new manager coming in. I think David Moyes is a great manager and a good person,” Beckham said.

“Sir Alex Ferguson always said that when a club like Manchester United loses big players they move on very quickly. The manager has now moved on, he was part of this club for so many years and even though he is still part of it, it’s important that the club still moves on.

“The fans will never forget what Sir Alex did for Manchester United, but there is a new manager that the players are behind and the fans are behind and I think he’ll be very successful.”
