Mesut Özil and Lukas Podolski both tweet their thoughts as Arsenal beat Newcastle to reclaim the top spot

Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League table thanks to a battling 1-0 win at Newcastle on Sunday.

After a goalless first half at St James’ Park, Olivier Giroud’s deft header from Theo Walcott’s free-kick broke the deadlock in the 65th minute.

And the Gunners held firm to ensure they lead the way at the summit of the English top flight heading into 2014.

The game prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are our favourite updates, in chronological order.
