Michael Dawson insists that Tottenham will see their FA Cup third-round clash at Arsenal as the perfect opportunity to make amends for their league loss at The Emirates earlier in the season.

Olivier Giroud scored the winner for the Gunners as Arsene Wenger’s men ran out 1-0 winners at Emirates Stadium back in September as part of the run of results which has helped them top the table.

Tottenham were handed a trip to their fierce local rivals in Sunday’s third-round draw, but Spurs skipper Dawson insists that his side are not fazed by the prospect of taking on the Premier League leaders.

“It’s a special game and a massive draw so early in the competition,” Dawson told Spurs’ website.

“We lost there earlier in the season and that was obviously a huge disappointment. I thought we played well that day.

“The FA Cup is different and this is certainly the tie of the round.

“We know all about Arsenal and what this game means to everyone. We’ll go there looking for a positive result.”
