Robert Pires believes Arsenal are capable of reaching at least the Champions League semi-finals this season.

The Gunners are currently four points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table ahead of their clash against Everton at The Emirates on Sunday.

I think Arsenal will qualify and top the group

However, former France international Pires has already turned his thoughts to the north London side’s trip to Napoli in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night.

Arsene Wenger’s side can qualify for the knockout stage if they avoid a loss by three clear goals in Naples, and Pires is confident Arsenal can leave their mark in Europe.

“The priority for Arsenal is the league title but they can go all the way to the semi-final in the Champions League,” Pires is quoted as saying by Daily Mirror.

“It’s going to be a huge atmosphere in the San Paolo Stadium. But I think Arsenal will qualify and top the group. That is important.”
