Thierry Henry claims that Old Trafford’s fear-factor has been lost since David Moyes took over at Manchester United.

The Red Devils have made a disappointing start to their Premier League title defence and are currently in ninth place in the Premier League table, 13 points behind leaders Arsenal.

They need to recreate the fear that people used to have going to Old Trafford

United stuttered to back-to-back home defeats at Old Trafford in the league before returning to winning ways against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

But Henry feels that a trip to Old Trafford no longer sparks fear in opponents following Sir Alex Ferguson retirement after 26 years in charge in the summer.

“When we used to go to Old Trafford, I can say it now, you knew they were going to come out strong,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“But now, when I see teams going to Old Trafford, they’re not even scared. They play.

“Like some teams didn’t used to even pass, and when I see them play now, teams are comfortable. They pass the ball around. They have more opportunity than them.

“They need to recreate the fear that people used to have going to Old Trafford, and they’ll be alright.”
