Chris Coleman believes that Aaron Ramsey has been performing on a similar level to Gareth Bale this season following his stellar displays for Arsenal.

The 22-year-old has been one of the Gunners’ standout performers this season, bagging 10 goals and making six assists to help the north Londoners top the Premier League table.

And Wales boss Coleman has been thoroughly impressed by the midfielder’s recent run of form, which he thinks is mainly down to some new-found confidence.

“When you see what he is doing at the minute then why would you not say he is at a similar level [to Bale]?” Coleman told Sky Sports.

“What he’s doing at the minute is enjoying his football. He’s found his confidence again. He’s always had the ability, he just needed to get the confidence back and he’s got that.

“You can’t be doing what he is doing without that and he’s doing it in every game. If he’s not scoring, he looks like scoring. He’s involved in everything. Rambo looks brilliant at the minute.”
