Arsenal will be without Bacary Sagna for the visit of Everton on Sunday, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

The France right-back missed Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Hull City with a hamstring complaint and has not recovered in time to face the Toffees at Emirates Stadium.

Wenger said: “Bacary Sagna is short so he will not be in contention.”

The Frenchman also confirmed that the Gunners have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game, and delivered good news on Lukas Podolski, who has been out since August with a hamstring problem.

The 28-year-old Germany international returned to full training on Friday as he looks to regain full match fitness.

“Apart from Podolski being back in training, everybody else is available from Wednesday night,” Wenger continued.

“We had no injuries and the players who were available then will be available for Everton.

“He’s been out for a long time and is still a bit short of match fitness because he had his first training session today [Friday]. But it’s good news to have him back.”
