Arsenal have made an enquiry about the possibility of signing Sebastian Giovinco from Juventus in January, according to the striker’s agent.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for a forward this month after Theo Walcott’s season-ending knee injury and Nicklas Bendtner’s ankle problem.

And Giovinco’s agent, Claudio Pasqualin, claims that he has held talks with the north London club about the possibility of his client moving to Emirates Stadium.

“We have had contact with Arsenal,” said Pasqualin.

“It was a request for information about his situation. There was nothing more [at the moment].”

Giovinco, who has 17 Italy caps to his name, has been limited to just two Serie A starts for Juventus so far this season and has scored one goal and made one assist.
