Eden Hazard helped fire Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday as the Blues sealed a 2-0 victory over Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Elsewhere, Manchester United, Southampton and West Ham United were all winners to help end their respective poor run of results, whilst Everton and Fulham notched up comfortable victories of their own.

Here is the best of the Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order as Hazard and Adnan Januzaj earned the plaudits on a busy day of Premier League action.

Ex-England international Peter Reid ‏(@reid6peter) is impressed by Chelsea’s Belgian star: “Hazard top class lad!”

Tottenham legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) is impressed by a new-look Fernando Torres: “What a difference a year makes. Not a single Chelsea striker scored in an away PL game last year. In 2014 Torres has scored in all of them.”

Former West Ham striker John Hartson (‏@JohnHartson10) tips Chelsea to win the Premier League crown: “Chelsea for the title I believe this season winning ugly and been over the course many times before.. #justanopinion”

Hull captain Curtis Davies (‏@TheCurtisDavies) felt the Blues weren’t as watertight as they were on the opening day of the season: “Frustrating day today! Different Chelsea to opening day allowed us to compete most of the game. Individual quality was the difference #HCAFC”

Ex-Liverpool forward Michael Owen ‏(@themichaelowen) picks out Hazard as his man-of-the-match: “Typical efficient performance from Chelsea today. Hazard was top class. Hull were poor considering how well they’ve played this season.”

Man-of-the-moment Eden hazard ‏(@hazardeden10) is satisfied: “Good job today… #allezchelsea”

Lee Carsley ‏(@lecarso) issues his trademark Everton goal cry: “Toffadoodledooo….”

Sunderland legend Michael Gray ‏(@mickygray33) discovers a new-found belief following a rout at Craven Cottage: “Wooooohooooooooo we are staying up say we are staying up….!!! 4,1 hat-trick for @AJohno_11 #safc”

Injured Toffees forward Gerard Deulofeu (‏@gerardeulofeu) praises his team-mates: “Yes @Everton !! Great win against Norwich.. #COYB”

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley ‏(@RBarkley20) was impressed by a stylish performance: “Class by the blue boys today.”

Southampton defender Luke Shaw ‏(@LukeShaw3) credits the Saints supporters for their role in a key win: “Massive 3 points today! Thank you to the fans for the unbelievable support today.”

West Ham midfielder Matt Jarvis (‏@MrMattJarvis) feels it could be a huge result: “Delighted for everyone involved with the club today! Fantastic result and a massive 3 points!! Fans were great again!! #COYI”

Hammers co-owner David Gold (‏@davidgold) thanks the travelling support: “Despite two heavy cup defeats, over 3000 magnificent fans traveled to Cardiff today and helped push West Ham over the line to victory. dg”

Danny Higginbotham ‏(@Higginbotham05) gives us his thoughts on United’s second-half transformation: “Second half difference nothing to do with possession. Man united pressing Swansea higher up the pitch and now they are dictating.”

Finally United legend Peter Schmeichel ‏(@Pschmeichel1) picks out Nemanja Vidic – and not Adnan Januzaj – as his star from the 2-0 win: “Well done the @ManUtd boys, Januzaj will prob grab the headlines, but Vidic for me today was awesome. #leadership”
