Jordan Henderson has hailed Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez as the best partnership in the Premier League after their starring display at Stoke.

The Uruguay international took his tally to 22 Premier League goals this season after scoring either side of half-time in a 5-3 victory over Stoke City.

For me they are the best partnership in the league

Sturridge made his return from an ankle injury as a second-half substitute at the Britannia Stadium – and scored Liverpool’s fifth to seal three points.

And Henderson feels the pair are a formidable double act following Sturridge’s return from a seven weeks on the sidelines.

“For me they are the best partnership in the league,” Henderson told the ECHO.

“Daniel has missed a lot of games and had only trained a few times before this game.

“But when he came on and linked up with Luis it was like he had never been away.

“It’s just natural because they are top players and just know where each other is.

“Even in the warm-up before the game Daniel was buzzing to be back. He will be fresh for the rest of the season now and he’s a great plus for us as he gives us another option.

“He’s such a fantastic player and he has great movement. Him and Luis combined really well for a couple of the goals.

“It’s really pleasing to see those two back playing together. With quality like that up front you know you can always score goals.”
