Laurent Koscielny admits that he will face a tough task in attempting to keep Emmanuel Adebayor quiet when Arsenal host Tottenham on Saturday.

The Togolese striker has been in sparkling form for Spurs since being handed a return to the first-team under new boss Tim Sherwood.

The 29-year-old has netted four goals in six games, including the opener in Wednesday’s 2-1 Premier League win at Manchester United.

And Koscielny is expecting a difficult afternoon against the former Arsenal striker at Emirates Stadium.

“He is complete – he is good in the air, he is quick and has good technique,” Koscielny told Arsenal Player.

“He is a difficult striker [to mark] – strikers need confidence and he is scoring goals. He has come back stronger and you can see that.”

The France international added: “Against Tottenham we know it will be a difficult game, but an exciting game.

“We want to win it because it is so important to the club and the fans. We will do everything we can together on the pitch to win the game.

“Every derby is very important for the fans, it is the game that you must win. The atmosphere is different before, during and after the game and we want our fans to be smiling.”
