Liverpool 2 Hull City 0: Brendan Rodgers hails his side's "best win" of the Premier League season
Brendan Rodgers hailed Liverpool’s “best win” of the season after the Reds were comfortable winners against Hull City.
Luis Suarez had a first-half header disallowed after he was adjudged to have been offside before Daniel Agger headed the opener from a Philippe Coutinho corner.
It was arguably our best win of the season
Liverpool’s Uruguay international took his tally to 20 Premier League goals this term courtesy of a superb free-kick midway through the second half.
And Liverpool manager Rodgers felt it was an impressive win fresh from back-to-back losses to Chelsea and Manchester City.
“It was arguably our best win of the season, on the back of what was a tough schedule for us with a light squad,” Rodgers told BBC Sport.
The energy, as you’d expect, was not what it has been but we showed great resilience today.
“Luis Suarez’s quality is unquestionable. It’s probably unfair that our team doesn’t get the credit.
Everyone talks about Luis, and we all know he’s a world class player, but even when he was out of the team we only lost one game.
“Today was a great team performance and what we’re building here is based around that. We had to dig in and we got a very good result.”
