Daniel Agger has reiterated that he is not thinking about leaving Liverpool in the January transfer window.

The Denmark international, who was made Liverpool vice-captain at the start of the season, has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot due to injury and the form of Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho.

I’m not thinking about moving at the moment

The 28-year-old centre-half has been linked with a possible switch to Serie A outfit Napoli in recent months, with Rafael Benitez, who brought Agger to Anfield in 2006, currently in charge of the Naples side.

Agger is currently nursing a calf injury which is expected to sideline the defender for at least a month, but the Dane has no intention of leaving the 18-time English champions in the near future.

“I’m not thinking about moving at the moment, not at all,” Agger said.

“I’ve only seen what the papers say and I can’t really do anything about it. There is no reason to believe these rumours.”
