Emile Heskey is sure that Brendan Rodgers will bolster his Liverpool squad during the January transfer window.

The Reds are currently fourth in the Premier League table and six points behind leaders Arsenal after an impressive start to the season.

And former Liverpool striker Heskey is fully expecting Rodgers to dip into the transfer market as the Northern Irishman looks to keep his side’s bid for Champions League qualification on track.

“When January comes around you always expect the top four to do a bit of business,” Heskey told talkSPORT.

“They have quite a strong squad, it’s being rotated and the players who are coming off the bench have made a difference.

“It’s one of the things Liverpool have lacked over recent years. They’ve never really had someone to come off the bench and actually change a game. But I’m sure they will strengthen somewhere.”

Liverpool have been linked with a move for FC Basel winger Mohamed Salah in recent weeks.
