Daniel Agger has vowed to make a return to first-team action within four weeks after the Liverpool defender suffered a calf injury last weekend.

The Reds centre-half was forced off the pitch in the second half of Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup third round at Anfield.

The 28-year-old is likely to miss key clashes against Aston Villa, Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Arsenal after tests revealed that the defender would be sidelined for a month.

But the Dane tweeted his determination to make a swift return.

Earlier this week, Agger reiterated that he is not thinking about leaving Liverpool in the January transfer window

“I’m not thinking about moving at the moment, not at all,” Agger said.

“I’ve only seen what the papers say and I can’t really do anything about it. There is no reason to believe these rumours.”
