Philippe Coutinho believes Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is “making the difference” ahead of their trip to Stoke City on Sunday.

The Uruguay international scooped the Premier League’s player of the month award for December after scoring 10 goals and making four assists in seven games.

Suarez has netted 20 top-flight goals in the current campaign, and Brazilian midfielder Coutinho is honoured to play alongside such a talented player.

“Sure. He is making the difference and is scoring a lot of goals, creating loads of assists, and I hope he continues like that until the end of the season,” Coutinho told Liverpool’s website.

“As I said before, it is an honour to play with such a great player. Not only to play with him, but also with Gerrard, Lucas and all the other fantastic players that we have at our club.

Coutinho praised the Reds skipper further: “Gerrard this year has been exceptional.”

The 22-year-old playmaker is also relishing Daniel Sturridge’s return to action and continuing their flourishing partnership.

“Daniel is a fantastic player and it is always a pleasure to play alongside him, because he is always on the move trying to score goals,” Coutinho added.

“I believe he is back in training and I hope he gets back as quickly as possible because it will be better for us all.”
