Rafael da Silva has taken to his Instagram account to rubbish reports linking him with a move away from Manchester United in January.

The Brazil international has found his first-team opportunities limited this term, with Phil Jones or Chris Smalling occupying the right-back slot.

Rafael’s twin Fabio, who was sent off in the closing moments of United’s 2-1 loss to Swansea City in the FA Cup earlier this month, has also been linked with an Old Trafford exit.

However the 23-year-old, who has made nine Premier League appearances this term, rubbished recent reports with a succinct message on social media platform, Instagram.

Rafael posted: “I’m not leaving”.

Earlier this week, the Brazilian duo’s agent Cassiano Pereira claimed the brothers were likely to leave the defending Premier League champions this summer.

Pereira told Calciomercato: “At the moment I can say that they will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in the summer it is very likely that they can go.

“I do not know anything about these rumours [about the pair leaving this month].”
