Roberto Mancini has remained coy on speculation linking Galatasaray with a move for Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic.

The Serbia international is set to be a free agent in the summer after the defender’s agent indiciated that the centre-half would not sign a new deal at Old Trafford.

And Mancini, who was appointed as Gala manager earlier this season, admitted that a player of Vidic’s experience and quality would be an important part of any team.

“Every manager would want a player as experienced as him [Vidic] on their team. He is the type of player who can really make a difference,” Mancini is quoted as saying by
Daily Mail.

Last week, Vidic’s agent Silvano Martina confirmed that the Serbian has plenty of potential suitors and doesn’t expect his client to sign a new deal at Old Trafford.

“At the moment, I would rule out an extension with Manchester United,’ said Martina.

“Vidic, given his contract situation, has several teams looking at him. For the time being we remain calm.”

Vidic has scored 18 goals in 281 Red Devils appearances in all competitions since joining United in January 2006.
