Nemanja Vidić has admitted his surprise at the “crazy” nature of this season’s Premier League.

Manchester United have made a stuttering start to their top-flight title defence under David Moyes and currently lie in seventh place in the table, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal.

In the Premier League, we had a tough start and that didn’t help us get our rhythm

And defender Vidić, who has been linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford in recent weeks, has been shocked by some of the results in the division.

“I didn’t expect it to be this crazy,” Vidic is quotes as saying in the Daily Mirror.

“I expected teams to drop points and I expected a few teams to get better. I thought Liverpool would improve, but I didn’t see them being where they are – Arsenal, maybe as well.

“I thought City and Chelsea would be up there and I thought we would be in a better position that where we are now.

“In the Premier League, we had a tough start and that didn’t help us get our rhythm at the start of the season.”
