Manchester City exacted revenge on Chelsea for their Premier League defeat earlier in Ferbuary as the Citizens were 2-0 winners in the FA Cup fifth round.

Summer signing Stevan Jovetic opened the scoring in the first half after finishing a fine City move before Samir Nasri netted on his return from injury to book their place in Sunday’s draw.

Here is a selection of the best Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order as Manuel Pellegrini’s men edged closer to the quadruple.

England legend Gary Lineker (‏@GaryLineker) better hope that Mourinho hasn’t read his tweet: “Is there a fear of failure in the air tonight?”

Parody account Boring James Milner (‏@BoringMilner) is clearly excited by the prospective FA Cup tie: “I can’t believe we are both playing in blue today. I know one is sky blue and one is royal blue but they are still both blue kits. Crazy.”
