Thiago Silva has admitted that he would welcome Chelsea forward Eden Hazard to Paris Saint-Germain “with open arms”.

The Belgium international scored an impressive hat-trick in a 3-0 victory over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Hazard, who has scored 12 Premier League goals this season, was linked with PSG in the summer, with Jose Mourinho reiterating the winger isn’t for sale.

But PSG defender Silva has fuelled speculation that the Paris club could test Chelsea’s resolve in the future by earmarking Hazard as a dream signing.

“It is normal that a president discusses transfers with the players,” Silva said.

“When there is a new name in the press, the president discusses it with us.

“Sometimes I speak directly with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic). It’s normal to ask ourselves if a player can make us stronger.

“I would welcome Hazard with open arms, like we did all recruits.

“We need players like him to achieve our project and win everything. He is so strong tactically and technically. All the great players are welcome in Paris.”
