Manchester United moved up to sixth place in the Premier League thanks to a 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
After a goalless first half at Selhurst Park, Robin van Persie fired home a penalty after Marouane Chamakh brought down Patrice Evra in the box.
Wayne Rooney, who penned a new five-and-a-half year contract worth a reported £300,000-a-week on Friday, then added a second with a shot into the top corner in the 68th minute.
