Lukas Podolski has warned Arsenal that Liverpool should still be considered as one of their rivals for the Premier League title.

The Gunners head to Anfield on Saturday looking to secure a victory to keep their place at the top of the table as the north Londoners aim to win the title for the first time since 2004.

Brendan Rodgers recently declared that he considers his Reds side to be out of the chase for this season’s top-flight crown.

But Podolski feels that the Merseysiders are still in contention for the title, despite trailing the leaders by eight point.s

“I think they are not out because the top of the league is very close,” Podolski told Arsenal’s website.

“Inside maybe they think they can fight for the title.

“I focus on my club and we want to go there, win the match and get the three points. This is the most important thing for us.”
