Daniel Agger hailed Liverpool’s best win of the season after their 5-1 rout of title-chasing Arsenal.

The Reds raced into a 4-0 lead courtesy of Martin Skrtel’s quick-fire brace before Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge slotted past Gunners goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Sterling capped off a fine Liverpool performance with a second-half strike before Mikel Arteta scored a consolation from the spot after Steven Gerrard had fouled Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And Agger, who is currently nursing a calf injury, heaped praise on the Reds following their emphatic win.

Agger’s fellow Liverpool centre-half Mamadou Sakho was similarly generous in his praise of his team-mates.
