19-year-old Sterling scored either side of half-time to help Liverpool trash Arsenal 5-1, with Suarez turning provider for the winger’s opener at Anfield.
But I don’t think there is anyone better (than Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling)
Daniel Sturridge also scored his seventh consecutive Premier League game on Saturday, to take his tally to 15 strikes for the season.
And Rodgers felt his strike partnership, dubbed SAS, and Sterling form the most potent attack in the English top-flight.
“There are some outstanding talents and I was at the Etihad the other night and watched Eden Hazard, Willian and Samuel Eto’o,” Rodgers told the ECHO.
“But I don’t think there is anyone better (than Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling) and when you can do that to a team that is going into the next round of the Champions League (it shows that).
“Everyone came here expecting a tight game but to have the game over by half-time , or even before that, just shows you the level that this team is performing at. I’m very proud.”
Rodgers added: “We know we can get goals and that was one of the things I said when I came here.
“When you are the opposition manager what puts you on the back foot is a team that is offensive, dynamic and can score goals.
“We have been that over the last 18 months. We have still got a way to go but we showed some great signs.”
