Lukasz Fabianski admits his delight at helping Arsenal beat Liverpool to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals

Lukasz Fabianski revealed his delight at Arsenal’s performance after his impressive display helped the Gunners beat Liverpool to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Polish shot-stopper made a string of saves to keep the Reds at bay at Emirates Stadium as goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski wrapped up a 2-1 win.

And Fabianski, who has made just four appearances for the Gunners so far this term and whose future at the club is uncertain, was thrilled with the victory following their 5-1 thrashing at Anfield last weekend.
“I’m happy with my performance but especially I’m happy with the team,” Fabianski told Arsenal Player. “We managed to win a really difficult game against a really difficult opponent who basically killed us last week. So a response was important and we did that so we’re all happy.
“For sure [there was extra motivation] because it was a short space between the last game and this one, so obviously it’s going to stay in our heads and we needed to respond really well.
“I’m just happy that we won, that I helped the team. It could have been a similar story because we started again a bit slow – in the first few minutes they had two really good chances. I managed to help the team in those situations.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was also full of praise for the 28-year-old goalkeeper after the win.
“I’m especially pleased for Fabianski because I have a huge respect for him and his attitude and his quality,” he said. “I’m so happy that he gets this opportunity to show his quality.”
