Man City 2 Chelsea 0: The best team won, admits Jose Mourinho
Man City 2 Chelsea 0: Jose Mourinho makes no excuses after his side are beaten in the FA Cup fifth round
Jose Mourinho conceded that his Chelsea side were second best after Manchester City beat the Blues to advance to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The situation is simple to analyse: they were the best team, they won

Stevan Jovetic gave City the lead in the 16th minute at Etihad Stadium with a low finish off the inside of the post, before substitute Samir Nasri wrapped up the victory with 23 minutes to go.
City had lost twice to Chelsea in the Premier League heading into the game but Mourinho admitted that his side were outplayed by Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
“I don’t say my team failed, I say City played much better than us, deserved much more than us to win,” said Mourinho.
“The situation is simple to analyse: they were the best team, they won.
“The second goal was an offside but we would still have lost 1-0 as we were never close to scaring City in the game,” he adds.
“Today proved how difficult it is to win here, which shows how well my team did in the last game.”
The Portuguese boss continued: “We go game by game and we are what we are. We always try to win the next game, it doesn’t matter the competition, so I don’t think one or two more games in the FA Cup would change anything for us or anything for them with the powerful squad they have.
“Today was also clear there was a different freshness between the teams, one team played a few days ago and another team played last week and had one week without competitive football. It was easy to see the difference.”
