Toni Kroos has insisted that he is happy at Bayern Munich despite the midfielder failing to agree a new deal with the Bundesliga leaders.

The 24-year-old was heavily linked with Manchester United during the final week of the January transfer window after David Moyes was spotted at a Bayern league match last month.

I am very happy to play for Bayern and my position in the team is very good

In January, Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, who was appointed as manager at the Bavarian club last summer, admitted that the Germany international could end up quitting the Champions League holders.

However, Kroos reiterated that he is happy at the reigning German champions, adding that he isn’t under pressure to sign a new deal in the immediate future.

“Much has been written, especially in the last few days, about my sporting future, but you shouldn’t believe everything in some newspapers,” Kroos wrote on his Twitter page.

“The fact is I am very happy to play for Bayern and my position in the team is very good. The fact is also that we couldn’t agree a new contract.

“Since it runs until 2015 this is not a big problem, and we will see what the future brings. My focus is on the sport side of things and we will do everything possible to complete the season as successfully as last season.”
