Louis van Gaal has claimed that Robin van Persie is finding Manchester United’s football “difficult”.

The 30-year-old striker has endured a muted season for the Red Devils due to a series of niggling injuries and United’s poor form under new manager David Moyes.

The football from Man United now is for him maybe difficult but then he wishes to show his techniques

Van Persie, who moved to Old Trafford in a controversial £24m deal from Arsenal in 2012, has still managed to score 10 goals in 15 Premier League appearances for the defending champions.

And Netherlands manager Van Gaal believes Van Persie is looking forward to play for his national team in next summer’s World Cup.

“I think he should be great in the tournament because he loves to play in the Dutch squad,” Van Gaal is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.

“The football from Man United now is for him maybe difficult but then he wishes to show his techniques. Techniques in the Dutch team for him is higher.

“He has shown that all the qualification matches more than ever because he’s our top scorer and I hope he can continue this.”
